Sofia Holds the Biggest LGBT Conference of Europe in 2020

04.11.2018 - The delegates of ILGA-Europe's 22nd annual conference chose Sofia to be the host city of their gathering in 2020. This way Sofia becomes the first city ever to host the biggest LGBTI forum in Europe twice. The first time was in 2006 when the theme was "We are a family - our families in Europe and the European family".

"We are exceptionally excited about the chance to host an event of such importance and magnitute", said the organizers from Bulgarian gay rights foundations GLAS, Bilitis and Deystvie. The conference gathers over 500 delegates from Europe and serves as a platform, where the future of the gay movement and activities is determined. The various countries of Europe function in different environments and for us it is important for the voice of Bulgaria and Eastern Europe to be heard".

These three organizations also stand behind the annual gay prides in Sofia and the Rainbow hub - an LGBT center of support and culture.

ILGA - Europe is an international NGO, working for equality and rights of lesbians, gay, bisexual, transsexual and intersexual people in Europe. The organization partners with EU, the European Council, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in relation to human rights of LGBTI people.

We from Gay Holidays in Bulgaria are very proud with this acknowledgement given to our Bulgarian activists and are ready to provide tours or tourism services to anyone involved.
