Varna will host an LGBTI+ festival 16-21 October

13.10.2017 - Next week, from 16th to 21st October, Varna will host an LGBT+ festival. The name of the innitiative is "Days of LGBTI+ Varna" and its program will comprise of over a dozen events, including film projections, workshops, seminars, book presentations and more. The organizers are "Queer Squad" collective and the LGBT organization "Deystvie" (which also organizes Sofia's annual gay pride). The venues for the events are "Halle 3" (3 Hristo Botev str.) and "The Social Teahouse" (53 Preslav str.). All the events are free of entrance fee.

16.10. Monday
18:30 - Stonewall workshop in the Social Teahouse, where volunteers will learn how to organize LGBTI+ events and fight for equality.
20:00 - Opening party in Halle 3

17.10. Tuesday
18:30 - History of Pride - How the Stonewall riots established a global move for equality? (lection) - Halle 3
19:30 - Queer liberation and feminism (lection) - Halle 3

18.10. Wednesday
18:30 - Free Kitchen (Solidarity action) - Halle 3
20:00 - "Pride" (2014) - movie projection and discussion about the thematic parallels between the movie and Bulgaria's social rights and struggles - Halle 3

19.10 Thursday
18:30 - LGBTI+ community meeting - a getting together of LGBTI organizations and representatives in Bulgaria - Halle 3
20:00 - Barash - a projection of the Israeli movie "Blush" - Halle 3

20.10 Friday
18:00 - What is it like to create LGBTI+ literature in Bulgaria's 21st literary century (Workshop) - The Social Teahouse
